Summary of qualifications

I have provided support for computers in Dos, Windows, and Macintosh environments for the past 12 years. I also have some experience with Linux and UNIX. My interest in computers involves both hardware repair/upgrades and software installation/troubleshooting in networked environments and has been quite varied. I enjoy helping others utilize computers to express themselves and become more effective in their pursuits. I am also interested in developing webpages with quality content.

  Goodwill Industries of Central Texas   Computer Works  Operations Manager

I ran Computer Works, one of Goodwill Industries' (then) four computer refurbishing operations in the country. I was responsible for managing the sales floor, supervising and assisting our technical staff, and handling various and sundry management responsibilities at this ground-breaking operation which recycles used computers and rebuilds them for resale.

I was employed at UT as an inter-lab staff assistant maintaining some 50+ computers and helping students with computer applications. I began as a technical staff assistant I and have also worked at the Student Microcomputer Facility and ACWL (UNIX lab) as a Computer Operations Specialist.

Additional activities

I began helping friends and acquaintances with their computers in 1994 and soon developed a reputation as a geek. I now manage the computer lab where I got my start with UT's Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services. Prior to all this I pursued various interests in the arts working as everything from employee at Taco Bell to assistant manager of a record store to book information specialist at The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
