the talking pictures of Jean Arthur

i've read the first real biography of great screwball comedienne Jean Arthur enititled Jean Arthur: The Actress Nobody Knew. it was hard to read because jean arthur seems to have led a very abortive life. it is amazing that she was able to make any movies at all. i fell in love with her characters on the screen, but never have i been more disappointed reading a star's biography. she shut the world out.

i am interested in trading/buying any of her films that i do not have a rating listed for here below and if i do have a rating listed then it is either available commercially, or if not i would be willing to trade with you. please email me if you have something for sale/trade. thanks

my thoughts on jean arthur before reading her recent biography by John Oller:
ok, so why did she stop making movies so early in her life? and why stop completely after shane? and why make an attempt at tv 13 years after that rather than going back into films? i wish i knew more about her. i've read the only book on her (and that wasn't released commercially). it was basically someone's thesis or something, but it didn't really have much private information or that kind of insight. i wish all her early starring role films were available on video. the devil and miss jones may be my favorite of her movies and it is by a director who isn't followed today so this film is not very well known at all. if she is remembered, it will be almost entirely due to the wonderful mr. capra who rescued her from obscurity.
