geez, give me something potent
if not omnipotent
cd's cost too much. i recommend that you buy your cd's used when possible. you can find just about anything if you can wait. who wants to pay practically $20 for a cd after sales tax?
what's really sad is that i live in such fear and insecurity that i've had to quantify, rate, and otherwise value my cds to the point of determining which ones have been most necessary at any given point in my life, and had to sell things that weren't perfectly necessary (in the list below all items prefaced by an asterisk were cds that i once owned, but had to part with in rough times).
also, one often buys cds out of convenience and whim, neglecting things one has wanted for a long time as more convenient/cheaper things become available (although i remember when i got in the garden by the eurythmics on cd a long time ago i felt that even if it cost $100 it was well worth it for how much it meant to me (i subsequently sold it and have it now again)).
plus there is still a lot of neglected stuff that may never see release on cd. you've got to admire the people like henry rollins to whom music means so much that they personally release their most loved material for the first time on cd (as he did with the early work of gang of four et al).
what say you about music anyway?
